The all about lie disclosed by Mr. Zinn in order we can change our ideology and this is can helpt we became someone literacy. All about him almost same with Noam Chomsky , they are people who dared in the criticize and an intellectual moreover active in the field of politics. “History is made by the winners” This is done by those historians who want to change the ideology of the view after or before.

After we read Speaking Truth to Power with Books, we have happened change in ourselves such as our new ideology about history and from that book we taught how became a critic , and also there is element of social for us in order do not be a liar , we as muslims people must be have taught about law of lying behold, the arguments of the Book and the Sunnah that confirms the prohibition of lying in general very much. Lying including sin ugly and despicable disgrace. This race has agreed to the prohibition of lying, coupled with the absence of the arguments are very much in this matter. History may continue to grow new, along with the memories of growing old and faded, but an event not to be manipulated to be lowered to the newer generation. Karena oleh kepentingan, sebuah kekuasaan terkadang tega untuk menghilangkan jejak-jejak sejarah yang tak sejalan dengan kepentingan penguasa yang memerintah. CRITIQUE

I was embittered with howard zinn’s book why he put negative story about colombus such as killer , violonce , and lie . Although he like that he also has positive story , there is good experience from him such as, on his return from his travels phenomenal Columbus "discovered" America, various awards and honors given to him . Namanya tenar dan perjalanannya menjadi pembicaraan di mana-mana. His name became famous and talks his way everywhere. Although many people who recognize his work as an achievement, not everyone can appreciate and accept the award given for pioneering Columbus. Apapun motif yang ada di benaknya, mereka senantiasa mencela Columbus. Whatever the motive was in his mind, they are always denouncing Columbus. "Ah, kalau cuma melakukan perjalanan seperti itu aku juga bisa, cuma aku saja yang nggak mau," kata mereka. "Ah, if only to travel as I can, but I just do not want that," they said. Walaupun banyak orang yang mengakui pekerjaannya sebagai sebuah prestasi, ternyata tidak semua orang dapat mengapresiasi dan menerima penghargaan yang diberikan atas kepeloporan Columbus.Mendengar kata-kata miring yang ditujukan kepadanya, Columbus mendatangi mereka sambil membawa sebutir telur.Hearing the words slanted against him, Columbus came to them while carrying an egg. Katanya, "Kalau kamu memang bisa melakukan seperti yang aku lakukan, sekarang tolong kamu buat supaya telur ini dapat berdiri tegak pada ujungnya." He said, "If you are able to do as much as I do, now help you make an egg so that it can stand upright on its end."

Columbus challenged, the men one by one to try to place a egg it. Semua mencoba dan semua gagal karena telur itu selalu terguling setiap dicoba untuk diletakkan pada posisi berdiri. All tried and all failed because the eggs were always rolled every tried to put in a standing position. Setelah berulang-ulang mencoba dan gagal, akhirnya mereka menyerah. After repeatedly trying and failing, they finally gave up. "Kalau kalian menyerah, maka aku akan tunjukkan kepada kalian bagaimana membuat telur itu dapat berdiri di meja," kata Columbus. "If you give up, then I'll show you how to make the egg can stand on the table," said Columbus. Then the eggs were taken and placed on the table so hard the bottom crack. Dan telur itupun dapat berdiri di atas meja. And even then the egg can stand on the table, seeing an egg can stand on the table but do it that way, then those protests. "Kalau caranya seperti itu, kami semua juga dapat membuat telur itu berdiri di atas meja." "If you do like it, we all can make the egg stand on the table." Columbus tersenyum berkata, "Kalau kamu dapat melakukan seperti yang aku lakukan, mengapa kamu tidak melakukannya sejak tadi..?" Columbus smile said, "If you can do like I did, why you did not do it since earlier ?" Mendapat tantangan Columbus, orang-orang itu satu persatu mencoba memberdirikan telur itu.Melihat telur dapat berdiri di meja tapi dilakukan dengan cara seperti itu, orang-orang kemudian protes.
So we can take motivation from this story, Kalau tidak berhati-hati menjalani keseharian, kita bisa jatuh pada sikap seperti orang-orang yang mencela Columbus; meremehkan sebuah prestasi hanya karena menganggap diri kita bisa melakukan hal yang sama. If you do not take care of daily living, we can fall on the attitude of people who denounce Columbus , underestimate an achievement simply because we consider ourselves to do the same. Kadang kita lupa dan sering abaikan, "merasa bisa" dan "terbukti bisa" adalah dua hal yang berbeda. Sometimes we forget and often ignore, "could feel" and "proved to be" are two different things. Padahal, memuji dan menghargai dengan tulus kepeloporan orang lain justru menunjukkan kerendahan hati dan ketinggian kualitas pribadi seseorang.In fact, commend and sincerely appreciate the pioneering others it shows humility and a height of one's personal qualities.

And in howard’ s book also there is no story people muslim , which one they are discovery America , he just be it tells the story of the discovery of America from the perspective of the Indians Arawaks, what is that because the writer is yahudi and that is problem , and he not put background Colombus , Where is he came from , who the parents are , and also he not mention from where the book can change the ideology on “Speaking Truth to Power with Books”.

CONCLUSSION

So history is the past experience, therefore if studied properly will be of much use, a lot of benefits, as well as having important meaning in people's lives. Teaching history is also intended to make students aware of the diversity of life experience in their respective communities and the presence of a different view of the past to understand the present and to build knowledge and understanding to face the future (Depdiknas, 2003 in Isjoni, 2007:72 ). This is such as what is done to howard Zinn’s student . With the history we can be critical someone and be confidance because we have many information which we get . Here can be taken points that literacy is an individual activity patterns that prove whether he can read or write or do not fit the context in it and also how they understand it.
