Everything has changed

I should say and I have to say honestly. Since all of these circumstances made me mad and no longer to be who really I am as a teenager, while my time has been dramatically cut off: no cinema, no fresh air, and no 9 p.m. everything has changed so fast and I still don’t know what is the best rhyme to be offered in my pieces of paper.

            Sometimes I feel that I very exhausted in proposing my essay, I think this will not teach me something when I have this bad sense. Tonight, on Monday 10^th march 2014 (1.44 a.m. watch is loudly ticking) I would say “thank you for everything”, I think that I will take another color of life. A week has passed, and time came to me surely. March, 21^th at 11 a.m. I got 88 in my paper as assessment, and neither sad nor happy. This is just beginning, I believe. I could change everything if I want.

            I realized this is the perfect time to go. Shooting all the pains and cutting so many confusing in my head, I don’t want to be killed but I want to be a killer. I don’t invite a friend at all in this mission, because I think they are just fine. As soon as a realized, I beg to myself that this should be success.

            So before I go, May I tell you once more what happened in my first essay (1^st critical review)? After that I will share my own experiences in my second essay (2^nd critical review) then I will show you a magic one.

Someone says every beginning is so irritated, one piece was so scare, a stick was like no ink and there were such of delusions. Millions of questions have been dancing in my mind, till I took out a silly one-why the government doesn’t let me to go to happiness: where is my human’s right? I have a legal aspect to be protected by them. This debating just happen between me and my self, and still seek who is the winner.

Anyway, I still keep my promise.  Let’s get the ball rolling …

            “Classroom Discourse to Foster Religious Harmony” was an umbrella in my first essay. It took me so far from unconsciousness, but now I think I just have had a half of consciousness. Its story just likes imagination and not real. The only power that I had is DEADLINE, it can make me kept moving to take out his article then finish my task very fast. But the time gave me some chunks of chocolate, I ate it in many times and finally tasted an enjoyment. As long as I ate the reading chocolate, I asked myself ‘it seems really happen in my land’. I didn’t hear soundtrack music anymore, no hungry, no sleepy, no frustrated – I was in very high concentration in that time. 10 times for repetition was enough to make me truly conscious that this text was not a fantasy at all. Thank you Chaedar alwasilah.

            When he said Indonesia has no power on literacy, lack in having national books, less productivity in producing journal, helpless reader, disharmony and many more, I see those conditions in my surrounding - ‘oh God, he is completely true’. When I see there are so many people are likely prefer watching TV then read a book, teenagers are addicted by their gadget, less knowledge symptom, fighting among students. So what does it means? There is something wrong in our education, especially Chaedar pointed out classroom as a beginning of development.

            Qualities of interaction in classroom are a main factor to foster religious harmony. How important a peer or discussion in class will make the right track of education system that has the effect in social aspect. Class is not just room anymore, that is a sacred site that will create many things, additionally not everyone can join in classroom as an academic person.

            OK, let’s turn to another story in my second essay …

            Everybody knows what the meaning of BOOK is. They say book is ‘jendela dunia’, another says book is ‘gudang ilmu’ but unfortunately they are till blind what is the nature of book itself.  Howard Zinn told that book could change someone’s life, could make policies in political zone, could create a history either manipulation or the real one, everything can be painted in book.

            Main example about Columbus and what have book done in America, they were terribly manipulated. American see Columbus as a hero, they have lied for many things happened in the past. They didn’t recognize who really their founding father, they were trapped and hidden from what was happening in early decade in dark America.

            Zinn came in 1980 through his phenomenal book - A People’s History of the United States. He strongly belief that Columbus is a murderer with his huge crime as genocide, Columbus is not a hero. Zinn broke the history, he put people on two possible option that is proposition or opposition. His book has a power to change the paradigm of American, he showed them the golden era of America was a dark side of native people.

            I can conclude that book is truly different. It brings a huge power to change the world, book not only give a data but also the soul of its context. There are so many pieces of paper and ink incision, there are not just physic of written but they contain the magic of book. This is the one of factor that changed my perspective, I will not let a book as a bored stuff to do. That is something precious.

            I will show you what is the further purpose of book itself, how does writing become so important in a whole of life. Once more, this is not only stuff but the magic one. Book based on Key Hyland is something different, really massive.

1.      Context

It is a kind of line between the author and reader, as an author need to be connected with their reader, and also the reader should do the same. Context is the way how the author can be connected toward their reader in making meaning.

2.      Literacy

Literacy is not something big, it repeats in daily activity. Hyland says that literacy is something we do, we practice it every day. We live in writing that always we see since sun arises till goes down.

3.      Culture

Why Hyland pointed out culture as a part of literacy? It is because of culture is one of important factor in literacy practice. Culture is known by literacy as communication, literacy could show or hide the story then will impact the change of culture.

4.      Technology

Live in modern era, we can’t take a distance with technology. Nowadays, literacy not only exist on pieces of paper but also in the different kind of space in internet. Like in a blog, the reader could ‘write-back’ in available coloum.

5.      Genre

This is a type of communication in social aspect. This is include so many background that will be offered by the author in proposing their text: characteristic of author, history, feeling, and so on. Not only that, genre also is affected by culture, that is the point why there are so many types of genre in written.

            All of those reasons in Hyland’s book are so related with literacy development, they have been making a line in life. Human being can’t break their nature as a loyal reader when we see no one part on the earth separate with literacy. Finally, I say- this is me the new Susi, this is the different color of my life, and book has changed my life too. I know that I could change many things with books, they have a power to do.

This is my first Creative process

Someone come from the dark side of America. He has changed a massive voice of falsehood. He stood on what happened in America for some centuries, he showed us truly story. The name of Howard Zinn was famous by a phenomenal book- A People’s History of the United States. Zinn let the people to make an option on their own paradigm, he gave people a warning through the behind label of a super-hero Christopher Columbus.
